You think you’re life is hard? Well so did I…but let me give you a little perspective. A friend of mine is a hero and life is dealing him a shit hand and it sickens me.
Danny Russell Crane has done 16 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was on a black hawk that was shot down. He was the only one of his crew that survived. With 24 plates in his face 6 bullets in his back, one eye left, and splinters left for ribs he retired from his service of our country.
This man is a hero and has been through more shit and carries more demons than most any of us could bear. As if that wasn’t enough Danny was diagnosed with cancer that will most likely kill him soon, but still he fights. He is taking treatments and doing what he was trained to do…fight like hell….even when the odds are stacked against him and the chips are down…he still fights.
And as if that wasn’t enough Danny returned home today to find his house and everything he owned lost to a house fire. All of his possessions, his clothes, everything…including his life savings which he was using to pay for his cancer treatments.
I want to use Facebook for more than sharing stupid pictures and bitching about my “horribly screwed up day”. Let’s share this and lift up someone who needs us. Let us honor a man, a soldier, and a fellow American that needs us. He risked his life for us…so now let’s spread his story. Maybe we can get him the attention he deserves. Maybe we can get the media to back a man that gave so much and is enduring more than a hero should ever have to bear.
Share this. Let’s take care of one of our own the way he took care of his brothers in arms. — with Danny Russell Crane.
